Word Wheel / Privacy Policy

Word Wheel Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 29, 2026

Word Wheel is a phonics app that helps kids learn to read. We built it so that nothing your child does in the app leaves their device. In short: we don't collect any data.

What we collect

Nothing. Word Wheel:

What stays on the device

To remember each player's progress (stars, stickers, the player names and pictures you choose, and the settings in the grown-ups area), the app saves it on the device itself. It is never sent anywhere. Deleting the app deletes it.

Say It and the microphone

Say It lets your child read a word out loud. It is optional:

Purchases

The one-time unlock is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see any payment details. Purchases are behind a parent gate so children can't start them by accident. If Family Sharing is on, Apple may share the purchase with your family.

Grown-ups area

The grown-ups area and purchases sit behind a parent gate (a multiplication question written in words). The app has no links to websites or other apps. The one exception, also behind the parent gate, is a button that opens the device's Settings app so you can turn on the microphone.

Children's privacy

Word Wheel is made for children, and is designed to follow the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR and Apple's rules for the Kids category. Since we don't collect personal information from anyone, there is nothing to review, change or delete. If you have questions, contact us below.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, we'll update it here and change the effective date above. If a future version of the app would collect any data, we'd update this policy first and ask for a parent's consent where the law requires it.
