Word Wheel

Phonics for Kids

Spin a start sound, spin an ending, and make a real word. Your child reads it first, then the picture appears: read it, then see it. Made for kids about 4 to 6 who are learning to sound out words.

How it works

Spin it. Read it.
Then see it.

Word Wheel is designed with phonics teaching practice in mind, so every spin is real reading practice, not guessing from a picture.

  • Two wheels, real words. Kids spin a start-sound wheel and an ending wheel to build each word.
  • One sound per tile. Tiles light up as the word is sounded out, so kids see each sound as they hear it.
  • Read it, then see it. The picture is revealed only after your child reads the word.
  • Say It. Kids read the word out loud. Speech is checked on the device, and recordings are never saved or sent anywhere.
  • Words come back for review. A Quiz mode checks what's been learned, and words return now and then for practice.
  • A sticker book. Stickers come from every quiz, from stars, from practice and from mastering words, to place across eight sticker scenes.
  • Room for siblings. Multiple players, each with their own picture avatar and progress.
  • A friendly voice. Sarah, a clear, friendly voice, says every word and sounds it out.
