Common questions

How do I open the grown-up settings?

On the Home screen, tap Grown-ups (the gear) at the top right and answer the grown-up question (a multiplication question written in words). The same button is also on the Your template screen. There you can choose the paper size, turn on Ask a grown-up before printing, buy the unlock or restore it, and read the privacy policy.

How do I unlock more shapes, or restore my purchase?

Tap Make a squishy, then a pack with a padlock (for example Bakery), then any shape in it to see Unlock everything. The Get more squishies tile at the end of the pack list opens the same screen. Tap Ask a grown-up and answer the question to buy, or tap Restore Purchases to bring back a purchase you've already made. You can also buy or restore in Grown-ups (the gear on the Home screen), under Purchases. Make sure the device is signed in to the same Apple Account that bought the unlock.

Does the unlock work with Family Sharing?

Yes. If Family Sharing is on, Apple may share the unlock with your family. On a family member's device, use Restore Purchases if the unlock doesn't appear on its own.

The printed squishy came out the wrong size.

Print at actual size (100%), not "fit to page" or "scale to fit", and check that the paper size in the grown-up settings matches the paper in your printer (US Letter or A4). Large flat squishies print on two pages.

I don't have a printer.

On the template screen, tap Save PDF and answer the grown-up question (it always asks first, because it opens sharing). Save the template to Files or send it to another device, then print it at a library, school or copy shop. If you print it some other way, tap I already printed it to go on to the build steps.

What do we need to build it?

Plain printer paper, clear packing tape (wide tape works best), scissors, and stuffing such as cotton balls, tissues or scrap paper. Markers or crayons are optional. A grown-up should do the cutting and help with the tape: packing-tape dispensers have a sharp edge. Never heat, microwave or freeze a paper squishy.

Can my child hear the instructions?

Yes. Tap the speaker button next to an instruction to hear it read aloud with the voice built into the device. If you hear nothing, check that the device isn't muted and the volume is up.

Where are our squishies saved?

Every squishy is saved on the shelf on the home screen, on the device itself, and is never sent anywhere, so there's no account to sign in to. Deleting the app deletes your squishies, and they don't move between devices. To delete one, open it on the shelf and tap Delete.
